About the speakers:

Casey Horinek (Ponca) Environmental Ambassador for the Ponca Nation of OK, Hereditary Drumkeeper of the Womens’ Scalp Dance Society, signatory on the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty and lifelong activist for Mother Earth. In her (former) role as councilwoman she led the effort for her tribe to become the first in the US to recognize rights of nature in effort to stop fossil fuel extraction.

Pennie Opal Plant (Yaqui, Mexican, Choctaw, Cherokee and European) is the co-founder of Movement Rights, Idle No More SF Bay, founder of Society of Fearless Grandmothers, and signatory on the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty.

Alison Ehara-Brown, LCSW (Mohawk, Palatine German, Scottish) LCSW, is a child and family therapist specializing in intergenerational and historical trauma. She is a co-founder of Idle No More SF Bay and a signatory on the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty

Alison will provide some perspective and solid tools for reducing fear, managing emotions and embodying empowerment There have been some important gifts in this time. Pennie will lead a discussion on how our thinking, actions and activism are changing as we cocoon and what we can do to prepare for standing together for clean water, air and soil in new ways.
